I was invited to introduce my research experience, especially some tacit knowledge about how to be a qualified Ph.D., to peers and junior graduate students of different backgrounds in the past years. After the presentations, some students asked for slides and wanted to talk more about their particular challenges. Therefore, I am attaching my presentation powerpoint.

I mainly talked about the general process about how to start a dissertation proposal, the process of qualifying exam and defense at DCP, UF. The process might be quite different in other schools. Some tips are kind of pragmatic but easy to understand. If you have further questions, please feel free to let me know.  I will continue uploading the skills, materials, thoughts about Ph.D. training and pedagogy later.
